July 30 –
We all arrived in Mexico City at roughly the same time, bought some supplies and settled in.
July 31 –
To start off the trip well, we went to Palacio de Bellas Artes, walked around the insanely lightbulb filled district, and had some food before getting back.
August 1 –
People weren’t motivated, but we made the effort and got to Lagunilla Flea market, which was packed. We ran into Carlos’ cousin Karla and escaped just as the rain hit us, hard. We had pizza and too much alcohol that night.
August 2 –
For Jessy’s birthday, we went to the Trajineras de Xochimilco, had food and mariachis, then came back home and made some fancy cocktails.
August 3 –
The Trip Trip. Not more will be shared here.
August 4 –
We wanted to go to the Frida Kahlo Museum, but it turned out we needed to make reservations, which we pushed to August 7. We then wandered around Cóyoacan
August 5 –
Good god, we had to wake up stupid early, but we made it to the pyramids of Teotihuacan onboard a hot air balloon (well, half of us did, anyway). Then we came back. That evening, we caught the best worst movie in the world at the Cineteca Nacional
August 6 –
For Ali’s birthady, we went to the National Museum of Anthropology, which she did not enjoy and attempted to go to the castle in the Forest of Chapultepec, but couldn’t get in because it had closed in the time we spent at the national museum.
August 7 –
We never made it to Colonia Roma Norte-Condesa, but went back to the Zócalo and had a good time.
August 8 –
Everyone but Carlos flew back home. Some say Carlos has never left and just waits in each Super Friend Bash location like a rock or perhaps a salamander.
